Pursuant to the provisions of Miss. Code Ann. §19-7-3 (1972), as amended, notice is hereby given by the Board of Supervisors of Harrison County, Mississippi, of Harrison County’s intent to sell surplus real property known as the previous City of D’Iberville Police Station located at 10274 3RD Ave., D’Iberville, MS, Land Record Parcel 1409E-01-003.000, and Legal Description: BEG AT S LINE OF HWY 15 OR 67 & E LINE OF 3RD AVE RUN S 500 FT TO BEG E 88 FT N 200 FT W 88 FT S 200 FT TO BEG SEC 22-7-9. Property to be sold “As Is where Is” without warranty except as to title.
The Board of Supervisors of Harrison County, Mississippi, will receive sealed or electronic bids at the EMA Conference Room in the First Judicial District Courthouse located at 1801 23rd Avenue, Gulfport, Mississippi, until the hour of 9:30 o’clock A.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 for “SELL OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE “PREVIOUS CITY OF D’IBERVILLE POLICE STATION, D’IBERVILLE, MS”.
Sealed bids must be on file with the Clerk of the Board prior to the opening date and time as stated above. Bids must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the envelope as indicated “BID for Sell of Surplus Property - Previous City of D’Iberville Police Station to be opened WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024”. Sealed envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the prospective contractor and the County assumes no responsibility for the premature opening of same by any County employee.

Sealed bids sent through the U.S. Mail are done so at the risk of the prospective bidder and should be addressed to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, in care of the Chancery Clerks Office, Post Office Drawer CC, Gulfport, Mississippi, 39502. The County is NOT responsible for bids that arrive in the mail after the designated opening time. Sealed bids may be delivered in person to the Harrison County Chancery Clerk’s Office in the First Judicial District Courthouse located at 1801 23rd Ave, Gulfport, Mississippi until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 or the EMA Conference Room at the First Judicial District Courthouse, 1801 23rd Ave., Gulfport, Mississippi on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 prior to the opening time as listed above.
If the agency is closed for any reason, including but not limited to: acts of God, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, epidemics, governmental regulations superimposed after the fact, fire, earthquakes, floods, or other natural disasters (the “Force Majeure Events”), which closure prevents the opening of bids at the advertised date and time, all bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud on the next business day that the agency shall be open and at the previously advertised time. The new date and time of the bid opening, as determined in accordance with this paragraph, shall not be advertised, and all Vendors/Contractors/Bidders, upon submission of a bid, shall be deemed to have knowledge of and shall have agreed to the provisions of this paragraph. Bids shall be received by the agency until the new date and time of the bid opening as set forth herein. The agency shall not be held responsible for the receipt of any bids for which the delivery was attempted and failed due to the closure of the agency as a result of a Force Majeure Event. Each Vendor/Contractor/Bidder shall be required to ensure the delivery and receipt of its bid by the agency prior to the new date and time of the bid opening.
Harrison County is the owner of the real property commonly referred to as “Previous City of D’Iberville Police Station”, Land Record Parcel 1409E-01-003.000., and recorded in Book 78 at Page 207 of the land records of the Harrison County Chancery Clerk, Second Judicial District.
The Harrison County Board of Supervisors found that the property was no longer needed for County or related purposes and unlikely to be used in the future operation of the County. As a result of these findings, the Board declared the property to be surplus and authorized the sale thereof.
Harrison County reserves the right after opening the bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, or to make award to the highest and best qualified, responsive and responsible bidder and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of Harrison County.
Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of submittal for the purpose of reviewing bids and to determine the highest and best qualified, responsive and responsible bidder.
